Old computers, new friends. Northeastern PA, monthly.
Join us at our next meetup at Jiva Java Cafe in Bartonsville, PA. We’ll meet there at 1:00 PM. Once you walk in the door, you’ll find us in the room to your immediate left. A table is set up for members bringing in gear; please let us know ahead of time if you are bringing anything so that we can reserve space. Jiva Java Cafe has drinks, snacks, and lunch available for purchase.
The NEPA Retrocomputing Users Group preserves, uses, and celebrates vintage hardware across Northeastern Pennsylvania. Whether you're an experienced programmer writing assembly, a hardware enthusiast recapping power supplies, a retro gamer loading floppy disks, or a complete beginner who just misses the warm glow of a CRT monitor, there is a place for you here.
Our meetups are casual, collaborative, and entirely hands-on: machines humming across tables, fresh coffees everywhere, and plenty of friendly conversation. You don’t need to be an expert or own a vintage machine to join in. Drop by to play classic games, get help troubleshooting a stubborn circuit board, or bring that mystery computer you just pulled out of an attic.
Bringing something to show off, play on, or troubleshoot is very welcome. Contact us first so we can reserve table space and power for you. Space at the cafe is limited, and a heads-up means your machine has a spot waiting when you walk in.

We typically meet the last Saturday of every month from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Jiva Java Cafe, 3427 PA-611, Bartonsville, Pennsylvania 18321. Walk in and take the room on your immediate left.
Retrocomputing is the hobby of collecting, restoring, programming, and playing on computers from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s — machines like the Commodore 64, Atari 800XL, Apple II, and early IBM PCs. Some people are in it for the games, some for the hardware repair, and some for the history.
No. There is no membership fee, no application, and no forms — just show up. We do ask that you consider buying a coffee or snack to support our host.
Yes, absolutely. Plenty of members showed up empty-handed the first time. There's always a free seat at somebody's machine.
Yes — contact us first so we can reserve table space and power. We'll look at a broken machine together, tell you what's likely wrong, and point you toward parts. We're a hobby group, not a repair shop, but you'll leave knowing more than you came with.
Very. Complete beginners are a big part of why we meet, and younger visitors are welcome with a parent — they usually beat the adults at the games.
Get an email before each meeting with the date, time, and place. Stay in the know!
Our Discord server is still being set up. Join the mailing list and we'll send the invite the moment it's live.
